Getting yourself out of the house, having fun hanging out with people you have things in common with, and getting an education at the same time, is just one of the many residual benefits of membership and participation in NALS activities.
As I prepare to travel to Cincinnati Ohio next month for my first ever NALS Education Conference & National Forum, I am taking stock of all the opportunities that I’ll have to earn the most CLE ever offered at one conference -- and I’m almost feeling guilty about it! (But not quite…) On top of all the CLE sessions, I’ll also be rooming with a NALS member from Texas whom I befriended at the Region 8 conference earlier this year and I’ll be attending the 60s-themed Foundation Gala and special riverboat dinner cruise. Where else can you have so much fun while learning and networking than a NALS event?
Last month, a number of our members, along with members of the Association of Legal Administrators and employees and their families from the firms of DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy, Udall Law Firm and Monroe McDonough Goldschmidt & Molla joined NALS members at our Bowling for Backpacks event, which raised enough money to purchase supplies for donation to three Flowing Wells area schools. Everyone who attended had fun – all with the added bonus of networking amidst the fun.
The opportunities for fun never end! Just this month on September 15th, we have local attorney John Lacy, Esq. from DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy presenting our CLE After Hours session entitled “A Historical View of Land & Title in Arizona”. I’ve heard great things from folks who have heard Mr. Lacy speak in the past, so I’m sure that this time will be just as entertaining and educational. If you haven’t reserved your seat, please remember go online and do so soon!
And as an extra special bonus this month, NTSA is also partnering with others from the Collaboration of Legal Support Associations (CLSA) (comprised of NTSA, the Association of Legal Administrators, the Legal Marketing Association and the Tucson Paralegal Association) to host a happy hour networking mixer on September 21st at the beautiful Sam Hughes Restaurant near the university. We won’t be having any CLE at this networking event, but you’re sure to run into your fellow legal professionals and having fun while making some new contacts when you attend this event. Check out the event flyer on page 11 or visit our website at (www.nalsoftucson.org/CLSA.html) for details .
So, come on down for a CLE After Hours meeting, join us for a networking event, or save the date to attend a future event. You’ll have fun, you’ll network, and you’ll learn! You can’t lose!
