The Happy Hour will be held at Nimbus Brewery located at 3850 E. 44th St., Tucson on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. This is a no host, cash bar event with plenty of “Happy Hour” appetizer and drink specials. Presenter's Bio: Malena Acosta is an attorney and supervisor in the Property Crimes and Arson/Explosives Units at the Pima County Attorney’s Office (PCAO). She has tried almost 60 jury trials, including homicide and capital cases. Ms. Acosta’s previous experience with the PCAO also includes work in Misdemeanors and Property/Narcotics Units. Ms. Acosta obtained her Bachelors of Science from the University of Arizona (UofA) in 1987 and has been practicing law since 2003 following her graduation from the UofA, James E. Rogers College of Law and admission to the State Bar of Arizona. Ms. Acosta has experience teaching with the Arizona Prosecuting Attorneys’ Advisory Council and to law enforcement agencies and arson investigators. She was twice awarded Arson Prosecutor of the Year by the Arizona chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) in 2008 and 2010. Ms. Acosta currently serves as President of the Arizona chapter of IAAI. She also volunteers as a board member for the Tucson Small School Project and has mentored PCAO law clerks for years. CLSA started its networking Happy Hours in 2011 to enable professionals from all aspects of the legal community to meet and network in a social setting. The group is also soliciting donations of non-perishable food items or cash donations to benefit the Tucson Community Food Bank. Door prizes will be awarded by raffle to those who donate. There will be a no host, cash bar and happy hour appetizers and drinks. CLSA is a collaborative group of leaders from Tucson area legal industry support organizations. Its representative associations include the Tucson-Old Pueblo chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), the Southwest chapter of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), NALS of Tucson & So. AZ, a local chapter of NALS, Inc. …the association for legal professionals (NALS), and the Tucson Paralegal Association (TPA), an affiliate of the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). The firm has even sponsored a firm "team" to include a full lane of bowlers (6 people) to show their additional support for Tucson's school children. What a gesture!! AZ is proud to host another BOWLING FOR BACKPACKS Back-to-School Fundraiser for local area schools as its fall social event on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Lucky Strike Bowling Center located at 4015 East Speedway in Tucson AZ. Cost is $15 per person, but persons bringing a backpack filled with school supplies will give them a discount of $2 off of admission cost. Admission includes two hours of bowling and your shoe rental. Up to 6 bowlers will be assigned to each lane, and a pizza and pitcher of soda will be provided for each lane of participants.
